Organisational maturity is consistently the dimension where the strongest technology deployments stall. 1. If a production line slows at 2am, does your team know before the shift manager arrives at 6am?
This tests real-time visibility. Factories with strong Process and Technology maturity have automated alerting that surfaces anomalies as they happen regardless of who is on shift.
2. Can you predict which assets are likely to fail in the next 30 days?
This tests predictive capability. Reactive maintenance remains the default in many factories, but at the cost of unplanned downtime that is entirely avoidable with the right data infrastructure and analytics.
3. When a quality defect reaches the customer, can you trace it back to the specific machine, shift, and batch that produced it?

4. Are operational decisions driven primarily by live data, or by experience and end-of-day reports?

5. Do your frontline workers have the digital tools and training to act on production data in real time?
