Key Education and Research Platforms for 2020 Webinars

Aug 6, 2020

Self-driving vehicles, manipulator robotics and earthquake engineering are among the most dynamic engineering areas, and they continuously pose new challenges both for researchers and professors trying to develop the skills future engineers need in those areas. Additionally, distance learning, and the ability of research teams to collaborate remotely, have now become an essential component of modern engineering education and research, but we know moving a traditional engineering course online can present a challenge, especially for hands-on labs and projects.

We, together with our partner Quanser, bring you a series of 3 webinars that deal with these challenges:

Platforms for Autonomous Vehicles and Self-driving Cars Research

August 17th (5 pm – 6 pm KSA time)

Is your research group looking to jumpstart autonomous robotics research programs and be productive in a very short amount of time? We will show you in action a platform that will help you achieve your research goals quickly through features such as onboard computing, data acquisition, on board sensors and vision. You will be able to test and validate your artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms on a 1/10 scale model car to accelerate, expand, and sustain self-driving research.

Structural Health and Earthquake Engineering Research Platforms

August 19th (5 pm – 6 pm KSA time)

We will show you a complete platform for earthquake engineering research and teaching that includes replication of accelerations, that is realistic and tunable, which makes it ideal for research in fields such as: structural dynamics, earthquake engineering, vibration studies, fluid dynamics analysis or structural health monitoring.
